Web application development

Multi-tenant SaaS, customer portals and internal tooling, built on React and Next.js with the boring parts done properly.

Overview

Most web applications do not fail because the framework was wrong. They fail because authentication was bolted on late, the data model could not survive its second customer, and nobody wrote down what happens when a background job fails at 3am. We build the unglamorous layer first.

Flowstate builds production web applications end to end — schema design, authentication and role-based access, background processing, audit logging, observability and CI/CD — then puts an interface on top that people actually want to use. You get a codebase your own engineers can pick up, not a black box that requires us forever.

We work equally well as the whole team for a company without engineers, and as an embedded squad alongside an existing one. Either way the same rules apply: typed end to end, tested where it counts, documented, and shipped behind a deploy pipeline you can roll back.

What this covers

The parts that matter.

  • 01

    Multi-tenant SaaS platforms

Tenant isolation at the row and schema level, per-tenant configuration, usage metering, subscription billing, and an admin plane your support team can use without a database client.

  • 02

    Customer and partner portals

Self-service portals wired into the systems of record you already run — ERP, CRM, warehouse, ticketing — with SSO, granular permissions and a full audit trail of who changed what.

  • 03

    Internal tools and back-office

Operations consoles, approval workflows, reconciliation dashboards and bulk-edit tooling. The interfaces that quietly decide whether a business scales past spreadsheets.

  • 04

    Real-time and collaborative interfaces

Live dashboards, presence, optimistic updates and conflict resolution using WebSockets or server-sent events, with a fallback path for the networks your users are actually on.

Deliverables

What you
actually receive.

Named artefacts, not a status report. Every item here is something you can open, run or hand to another engineer.

  1. 01Typed monorepo with shared contracts between client and server
  2. 02Authentication, RBAC and session handling wired to your identity provider
  3. 03Database schema, migrations and seed data under version control
  4. 04CI/CD pipeline with preview environments per pull request
  5. 05Observability: structured logs, error tracking, uptime and latency alerts
  6. 06Runbook and architecture decision records handed to your team
Questions

Before you ask.

Can you work with our existing codebase instead of starting over?

Usually, yes — and usually that is the right call. We start with a two-week audit that maps the architecture, quantifies the risk and produces a sequenced plan. A rewrite is the last option we recommend, not the first.

Who owns the code?

You do, from the first commit. We work in your repository, or in ours and transfer it at milestone one. There are no licensing strings and no proprietary runtime you have to keep paying for.

How long does a first release take?

A focused product with a clear scope reaches production in eight to fourteen weeks. Platform work with compliance, migrations or third-party integrations runs longer, and we will tell you that before you sign anything.

Next step

Tell us what you are building.

A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether we are the right firm for the problem. If we are not, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
