Software development for UK businesses

Delivered from India with a genuine overlap window. UK GDPR, MTD and accessibility obligations treated as build constraints.

We deliver to UK clients from India. Being direct about the trade-off: there is roughly a four-and-a-half-hour offset, which gives a solid morning-to-early-afternoon overlap window rather than a full shared day. We schedule collaborative work in that window and deep work outside it, and we say so upfront because discovering it in week three is nobody's idea of a good start.

The UK brings a distinct compliance surface. UK GDPR and the ICO's expectations around lawful basis and data subject rights. Making Tax Digital for anything touching VAT records. And for anything public-sector-adjacent, accessibility obligations that are a legal requirement rather than a nice-to-have.

What is different here

The constraints that
change the build.

  • 01

UK GDPR and data subject rights

Lawful basis recorded per processing purpose, and the machinery to actually service access, rectification, erasure and portability requests within the statutory window — which is difficult to add later.

  • 02

    International transfer mechanics

Personal data processed by a team in India needs the transfer basis handled properly: the IDTA or UK addendum to the EU SCCs, plus a transfer risk assessment. We work within your DPA rather than around it.

  • 03

    Making Tax Digital

Systems holding VAT records need digital record-keeping and API submission compatible with MTD, including the digital links requirement between records.

  • 04

    Accessibility as a legal requirement

WCAG 2.2 AA conformance, with the public sector accessibility regulations in mind where relevant. We build to it as we go and can provide an accessibility statement.

  • 05

    IR35 and contracting

We contract as a supplier delivering an outcome, not as individuals inside your organisation, which keeps the engagement outside the off-payroll rules. Your advisers should confirm against your own arrangements.

Questions

Practicalities.

Is the time difference a problem?

It is a constraint we plan around rather than pretend away. Standups, workshops and reviews sit in the overlap window; deep work happens outside it. Clients generally find the pattern works, but you should know it is an overlap rather than a full shared day.

Will you sign our DPA and complete our security questionnaire?

Yes to both, including the transfer addendum for processing in India. If there is a clause we cannot comply with we will name it rather than signing and hoping.

Can you invoice in GBP?

Yes. We contract with UK entities and invoice in GBP. Reverse-charge VAT treatment on imported services is something your accountant should confirm for your situation.

Next step

Tell us what you are building.

A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether we are the right firm for the problem. If we are not, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
